Perspectives toward ENG 259. Blog #6
Every student knows how tough it is to write papers, especially those kinds of papers that demand a lot of thinking and research. A lot of efforts have put in this class by me for fulfilling the commands of the writings knowing that it was not easy at all. I must say that when the semester first started; I was completely lost in knowing what to do. Days after days I started adjusting myself to grasp the power of writing and be knowledgeable. This class of Technical Writing has definitely enriched me a lot intellectually. I have gained a perfect skill to learn how to research for documents on the internet. Students have learned that knowledge is existed when we know how to use a computer and surf the internet for finding documents to be educated. The best part of this class was helping students not to plagiarize or take others documents by giving credit or citing the author. We need to cite the document what we have been redrawn whether on the school database or off a special cite. That teaches students to be real about and creative about our writing. This is the reason why we have to spend a lot of time to write a paper. Those papers took me at least day to finish for giving a thorough and comprehensible document.

Technical Writing is a class where students learn how to formulate their ideas for delivering information to others. When it comes to explain what is behind sometimes, it requires knowledge from technical writing to thoroughly explain what is going on in a plan. Especially, in the engineering field it requires a lot of writing as such relies on technical writing to specify what is happening in a project. For instance, we have to write documents like Memo, Proposal, and Recommendation therefore our focus has to be on how to write the documents professionally and convincingly to our boss. This class of technical has promoted me the knowledge on how to write a letter to my boss on certain issues that need to be taken care of, per se.

Blog Assignment # 5
Mac book Air vs. Windows 8 Ultra-book
It is no surprise to say that technology is changing humanity. It is also safe to say that technology is improving our lives days after days. Humans create technology to help each other to be educated. Technology has led to trends which tells that almost every six months a new invention is made. My goal here is to examine closely two newest products in the technological trends to lay out the best possible explanations or specifications of them. I have selected the Mac Book Air by Apple Corporation vs. Windows 8 Ultra book by Microsoft Corporation.
Firstly, I am going to start off introducing the Mac Book Air which is an invention of the Apple Corporation. It’s been said to be the best technological invention existed. The Mac Book Air has a featherweight from 11’’ to 13" MacBook Air, at 2.96 pounds, is the original Mac Book Air form factor—though it has changed designs slightly since its introduction. (The 11" flyweight model was introduced in 2010). Originally introduced in 2008 as the laptop that fit in a standard manila envelope, the Air has given rise to a new class of ultraportable laptops known as "Ultra-books."(Chris Foresman, June, 2012). Apple built the line off of what started out as custom, small-outline ultra-low-voltage Core 2 Duo processors, which powered the Air until ULV Sandy Bridge processors became available in 2011. ‘Apple also added Thunderbolt to the Air, finally offering a high-speed port capable of running high-end RAIDs, video cards, and other devices typically relegated to desktop machines or "pro" laptop (Chris Foresman, June, 2012). Simply, the introduction of the Mac Book Air in 2008 has come with two different dimensions and weighed 2.96lbs with a price of $ 1129.99. Its internal capacity is derived by this technological term “small outline ultra-low-voltage Core 2 Duo processors”. This literally defines the resistance of the battery and equipment inside of the laptop. Plus, it has said that the models are equipped with a 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, with Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz, and sporting 3MB of L3 cache (Chris, June, 2012). That is the minimum information there is for the overview of the Mac Book Air from Apple Corporation.
Secondly, the other choice was the windows 8 ultra-book is a new invention created this year of 2013. That invention is said to be the first real Ultra-book to slim down and competes with other laptops such as the ones from Apple. It is a touch version that maintains the exact same physical dimensions, including a thickness of 18.9 millimeters, but it's .41 pounds heavier at 3.4 pounds to the regular X1 Carbon's 2.99 pounds. This is still a more than decent weight for a 14-inch ultra-book says Casey (2013). It's questionable whether that fractional difference even makes a difference (Casey Johnson, March, 2013). This new laptop has an Intel Core i5-3427U and a 4GB memory. Its prices are in the range of $1249 to $1964 depends on the size.
When comparing the Apple product with the Windows 8’s, I realize that the apple product is more efficient than the windows 8. Mac Bok Air has better characteristic than the windows 8. The Mac Book Air is smaller in size and lighter in weight than (2.96lbs) however the windows 8 Ultra book is 14’’ and weighed 2.99 lbs. Its price is higher Mac Book Air which doesn’t make any sense because of the characteristic and feature it provides less than the Mac Book Air.

Nao Robot Aldebaran

As humans deepen in technology, there appears to have some great and interesting inventions. Certan inventions are very fascinating and helpful to humanity like Apple apparatus, Nao Robot etc... There is the invention of “Nao Aldebaran robotAldebaran Robotics NAO at 16x9”, a humanoid presupposes to help humans. Engineers have designated them to help elderly people.  We may have to say that Nao robot will be a huge breakthrough to humanity. After looking at a YouTube video on nao robot and all their features, we have a feeling that the mission will be well-achieved. A video implicitly says that this technology is important to human in needs especially elderly. The important mission of creating the robots is to assist people. A nao robot on a video on YouTube says that “my program goal is to improve your health” say to an advance in age man. The robot is programmed to keep the person accompany every he is going. The YouTube shows lots of capabilities from this nao robot that has ability to cook, garden, and to go in leisure walk with its owner. This video is very positive with the invention of this robot and is evidently proved that the robot will assist certain people very well. It’s been said that the Aldebaran robot has built in a French company; therefore, no information has given specifically to his inventor. It has been argued by a member of the company that built the robot that that people say that robotic technology is not good for society. He adamantly said that robotic revolution is definitely good for the today society.

Artificial Intelligence is some sort of a computer created with a dynamic aspect to help humans. Technically, artificial intelligence is defined as “the science and technology that seeks to create intelligent computational systems…..that can mimic or duplicate the intelligent behavior found in humans and other thinking things.” (Sullins, 2005). In other words, engineers of robots created algorithms and computation systems that are the same trait to human’s motions except that the robot has to be programmed to do its tasks. Simply, robots are made by humans who are trying to bring solution to several problems in societies. The development of robot means that even more sophisticated automated controls could be applied to industrial processes can be handled, particularly in medical field and industrial company like Apple and in industry of vehicles in which high-value parts had to be made to extremely close tolerances. Human eyes and hands simply do not have the precision to guide the apparel closely. Therefore, many companies were routinely failing parts mechanical system and now with revolution of artificial intelligent those incidents are rare (Ed. Richard, 2009, p62). By using robots to alleviate problems, companies were able to reverse those ratios, failing only 1 percent of the parts they produced because there is a low percentage of uncertainty in the fabrication of robots. We are saying redundantly that robots are created to help humanity. Their goal is to assist humans in their needs to improve the world from mechanical apparatus to humans. Encouragingly, factory automations have allowed other companies to leverage their workers’ labor to increase productivity many thousandfold and to produce goods that could not be produced by traditional craft methods (Ed. Richard, 2009, p62).

We have acquired papers in class telling us how great robots would be to humans. We have seen in class some clip on YouTube allowing us to see how engineers are fabricating robots. From the YouTube videos the ones showed in class plus my observation of robot, they seem to have to problem. We cannot say that they fabric the robots with no flaws; because we are humans who sometimes make mistakes in our tasks. Oftentimes, the things that we do may seem to be great but there are accuracy and precisions that must be in account that did not have a place in the system.

Excerpt From my Memo

I. Revamp the Traffic system around the School

Traffic modeling has always been the prior to numerous network engineering tasks like network planning or bandwidth yield management. It is still a huge research domain mainly based on advanced signal processing techniques. It can also help to better understand the underlying aspects of the usage of technology as well as to forecast its evolutions. This is an idea that the committee has laid to putting video cameras starting from the Ed Koch's Bridge to the 39th street around the school to punish the drivers with high speed. Cameras with photographic memory will help catching drivers with high speed around the school. Therefore punishing them would be the measure taking to prevent speeding and killing . we, engineers studying traffic flow or pattern around the campus,  have come up this concept called stochastic which defines the measures that we are taking to protect our fellow comrades around the school. Before doing everything, we have to make an emphasis on their awareness of the cameras by putting panels indicating that the drivers with high speeds are under surveillance video camera. Putting the cameras there and the panels will signal them to slow down. Psychologically, they will control themselves while driving around the campus full of students walking everywhere heading to class. This type of traffic modeling process will bring positive safety the students and the school's reputation.

The power of knowledge
My name is Roosevelt Chery. I started college at LaGuardia September 08, 2011. My career plan is Civil Engineering which is something that I am passionate about. I choose Civil Engineering to be my major because I was motivated by my parents. They think that I have all it takes to know about science and Math and everything that’s composed the universe. I almost completed two years at LaGuardia, but it is not toward graduation. My relationship to technology is extreme so that is how I can describe it. From day to day, technology is changing the world in understanding or say knowledge. Everybody whether they are educated or not, have the great advantage of technology. Technology creates by mankind brings lots of solutions of all peculiarities. The type of science that I am mostly interested in is chemistry which explains the formation of the universe with matter. I also study lots of mathematics trying to make me believe the truth of foundation of the universe. I do think that everyone in America have access to technology. I got to say that America is a country that doesn’t let people stay in shadow. Particularly, students in America are the most dealing with technology every day in their lives. I can firmly say that they have the same relationship through technology as me. Because technology is where universal knowledge lies. I am always enjoyed reading and writing. I like reading and writing very much. I read any books philosophy, psychology, fiction, romance, New York Times etc...The type of writing I regularly do is writing letters, some memo, and summary. Everything is compounded toward having knowledge therefore give reason to fulfill things. I have several reasons that motivated me to go to college to learn. Some of these reasons are personal, but some have to be said. The first reason is that I want to be a well-educated man. Every college student has the same objective, but not as much as profound as mine. Secondly, I also want to be successful. etc...
